Privacy policy

The short version: everything the extension knows lives in your browser, and the free and bring-your-own-key modes never send it to a server of ours. The one exception is the optional paid hosted-AI plan: if you turn it on, the text of the thread you're drafting for is sent to our server to write the draft, and nothing else. Details are below.

What the extension stores, and where

All of it locally, in your browser's extension storage on your device:

• Your product details, communities, search phrases, voice profile, and settings from setup.
• Your logs: replies and posts you chose to record, saved threads, people who engaged with your content (captured when you analyze your own notifications page), profiles you chose to scan, and edits used to improve your voice profile.
• If you use your own AI API key: the key itself. It is stored only on your device, sent only to your AI provider (api.anthropic.com) when you click a draft button, and never anywhere else. It is deliberately excluded from backup exports.
• If you use the hosted plan: your Reinly license key. It is stored only on your device, sent only to our server to authorize drafting, and also excluded from backup exports.

Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it. You can also export everything as a file from Settings; that file is yours and stays on your machine.

What the extension sends over the network

• Reddit: when you click Analyze, Find leads, or fetch a community's rules, the extension requests public Reddit pages and endpoints using your own logged-in browser session. These are read-only requests. Reinly never posts, comments, votes, or messages on your behalf.
• X (Twitter): nothing is fetched at all. When you click Analyze on an X page you already have open (a post, a search, a profile, or your own notifications), the extension reads what's rendered on that page, locally. Sending a reply or post opens X's own composer, prefilled, and you press Post yourself. No X API is called, nothing runs in the background, and Reinly never posts, likes, follows, or acts as you.
• LinkedIn: same as X: nothing is fetched at all. When you click Analyze on a LinkedIn page you already have open (a post, a search, a profile, an open message thread you're viewing, or your own notifications), the extension reads what's rendered on that page, locally, including recognizing your own comments so it can warn you before commenting twice. No LinkedIn API is called, nothing runs in the background, and Reinly never comments, connects, messages, or acts as you.
• Your AI provider (bring your own key): only if you add your own API key, and only when you click a draft button. The thread text and your voice profile are sent to the provider (api.anthropic.com) to write the draft. If you use the copy-paste flow instead, the extension makes no AI request at all.
• Reinly's hosted AI (paid plan only): only if you subscribe and enter a Reinly license key, and only when you click a draft button. The thread text and your voice profile are sent to Reinly's server (api.getreinly.com), which passes them to our AI provider to write the draft and returns it. We use that content only to generate the draft you asked for and do not retain it. Our server keeps a running count of drafts per license key to enforce the plan's limits, and nothing that identifies you or stores your drafts. Without the hosted plan, this never happens.
• Your product's website: once, during setup, if you click "Read my site," after Chrome asks your permission for that specific site.
• Nothing else. No analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no tracking of any kind inside the extension.

This website

• The waitlist form is provided by Tally. The email address you submit is stored by Tally and used only to tell you about Reinly's availability. See Tally's privacy policy.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) to operate the site.

What we never do

• Sell, share, or monetize your data or your drafts. The hosted plan uses your thread text only to write the draft you asked for, then lets it go.
• Read your Reddit, X, or LinkedIn account, messages, or history beyond the page you explicitly analyze. Analyzing a message thread reads only the conversation open on your screen, only when you click, and stores nothing unless you draft and log a reply.
• Act as you anywhere. Every reply and post is sent by you, by hand.

Changes and contact

Reinly's local-first behavior is the default and stays that way: the free and bring-your-own-key modes never send your data to us. The optional hosted plan is the one exception, described above. If this policy changes, we'll update it here first. Questions: kevin@getreinly.com.
